Billy (New Milford)

 

BILLY was found abandoned in the woods alongside his best friend, a beautiful female pit bull named ELLE. He has already survived quite the journey — but he's ready for his next chapter with a forever family.

BILLY and Elle spent a month together at Lyme Animal Control. On September 10, 2025, we brought BILLY into our rescue, and Elle was transferred to Old Lyme Animal Control. (That's Elle in the bottom collage photo with him in case you'd like to reunite them...)

BILLY is approximately 3 years old, and we believe he’s a Chihuahua/Pug mix — long legs, lean frame, (adorable underbite) and just over 10 pounds of personality and charm. He’s tall and lanky, with legs for days, but don’t be fooled — he’s a petite little guy!

BILLY clearly adored Elle and took a lot of social cues from her. In his foster home, he’s proven himself to be extremely cat-friendly and is warming up to a resident female dog similar in size to Elle. He may need a little time and patience to build confidence with new canine friends, but he gets there.

BILLY loves going for walks, has a wonderful energy, and rides like a champ in the car — making him a great adventure buddy. At night, he sleeps peacefully in a crate next to the bed, although he’d definitely prefer to be snuggled under the covers with you.

Vaccinated (Rabies & Distemper)

Dewormed

Microchipped

Heartworm Negative

Currently being treated for Lyme disease
