Meet FENRIR (FEN for short). FEN is an Australian Blue Heeler mix who just turned 7 years old on January 17th (he was born 1.17.2015).

Once upon a time FEN had a loving family and he was thriving, But after a divorce things were different. He had to move into a new home and his dad worked a lot. FEN was left alone most of the time and this affected him.

FEN moved into a foster home with a couple who was home most of the time and he thrived with all of their attention!

Once FEN knows you he will become attached to your hip and follow you everywhere. We call him a velcro dog.

FEN is a friendly dog, but he has not been well socialized, and he can be fearful of new people and scary situations. An experienced owner with a quiet home would be best.  We prefer a home with no young children, simply because they can be rough and loud and FEN prefers a calm environment.

FEN would love a fenced yard to tool around in. He loves to play fetch and he enjoys a nice walk.

The walks are good for him because FEN is overweight and needs to lose approximately 15 lbs to get down to his ideal weight of 50 lbs per our vet.  He is already on a diet, but needs an owner who will walk him on quiet roads or trails.  (No dog parks, as FEN is too fearful of that kind of interaction.)

FEN was hit by a car when he was young.  While he loves to ride in the car, he will sometimes try to chase a car driving by so he cannot be off-leash.

FEN will do best in a home with no other animals, although if you are an experienced dog owner and have a mellow, dog-friendly dog it could be a match.

FEN is a super loving dog who would love nothing more than becoming someones devoted companion. If that's you, please submit an online application to adopt a dog.

FEN is neutered, vaccinated for rabies & distemper, and negative for heartworm and tick born illnesses. He is being fostered in Plainville, CT.
