Fluffy (Shelton)

Type of Animal:
Wire Haired Fox Terrier

The top video shows Fluffy 3 weeks after he moved into his foster home, as a fully integrated member of the pack. His tail never stops wagging and he loves every person and animal he meets.
Fluffy is a sweet, gentle dog who was rescued from a warehouse with many other dogs in early 2018. Fluffy was thankful for a fresh start on life just in time for his 14th birthday, which was March 1st!
Fluffy is an incredibly loving “velcro" dog! His foster mom calls him “Boomerang” because even though he’s always moving about exploring, he always comes back to check in and follow her around. He loves cuddles and butt scratches!
Fluffy has some arthritis but that doesn’t stop him! He's incredibly agile and walks for two miles a day with his foster dad and canine siblings.  He would love to live with someone who will walk him daily and take him on adventures so he can explore his big new world. His vision and hearing may be slightly impaired but his sense of smell is perfect. (He can smell a treat from a mile away!)
Fluffy has been working hard on his housebreaking since his rescue and is doing very well. He is perfectly happy to wear a belly band in the house or even a converted baby diaper which is more cost effective than the belly band inserts and we can show you how to modify them.
The most important thing for Fluffy will be a home where his human companion is home most of the time so he can be let outside regularly to help with his housebreaking and who will feed him a high-quality, grain-free diet and some joint supplements for his arthritis. A fenced in yard would be a plus as Fluffy loves to wander around outside.
Fluffy has missed out on so many good years. Can you provide him with a bucket list of adventures for the rest of his life?
Fluffy weighs 21 lbs. He is neutered, vaccinated, HW negative, and microchipped. To submit an online application to adopt a dog please click here.  Fluffy is being fostered in Shelton, CT.
