Marnie (Plainfield)

Type of Animal:
DSH Tabby Mix
MARNIE is approximately 5 years old. Her story is very sad and she needs a patient adopter who will offer her a safe and loving forever home.

MARNIE's owner loved her so much that when she became homeless she refused to abandon MARNIE and her feline sister MISSY. Instead, she fought hard to keep her little family together by moving them from hotel to hotel every few weeks over a 6 month period until she ultimately suffered a massive stroke and passed away in April 2018.

At that time MARNIE became homeless for the second time in her life. Luckily she and MISSY had a group of Good Samaritans fighting to save them and they were rescued from the hotel.

Of the two cats MARNIE took this loss the hardest, as she had been abandoned several years ago by her first owner years ago when that person moved away and tossed MARNIE on the street to fend for herself. Luckily her mom Melanie rescued her back then and brought her in off the streets.

MARNIE is very affectionate. She loves human companionship but we don't think she wantsto live with any other cats. She gets along just fine with several dogs she has met, including a cat-loving pit bull mix and a young, playful Maltese mix in her first foster home. She is currently living in a foster home with three dogs, so we think she'll be okay in a home with a cat-friendly dog.

MARNIE loves to play with toys and really enjoys physical affection on her terms. All she needs now is a loving companion.

MARNIE does not like dry food. She is currently eating canned Merrick pate wet food.

MARNIE is spayed, vaccinated, and FIV/FeLV negative. She is being fostered in Plainfield, CT. To submit an online application to adopt a cat please click here.
