Rooby (New Milford)

Type of Animal:
Terrier Mix

Meet ROOBY. She was rescued along with her sister from one of the worst situations we have ever witnessed. They were nothing more than a commodity, being sold for profit and destined to a life of breeding (like their mom), fighting, or being used as bait.
ROOBY is looking for her forever home where she will be protected, cherished as a beloved family member, and given an exciting life that doesn't include be locked in a crate 24/7.
ROOBY is a super sweet puppy. She was so skinny and looked like kangaroos when she was first rescued, thus the name ROOBY. ROOBY gets along well with other dogs and cats, although if the cats run, she may ensue with a game of chase. She is good with the cats in her foster home but will play with a tail or chase for fun (never to hurt), and she loves to play with the other dog in the home.
ROOBY loves people and is a super snuggly lap dog. She will do best in a home with other animals to keep her company and/or a person or persons who will play with her, take her for walks, and give her an exciting life of adventure.
ROOBY is doing great with her potty training as long as you take her outside regularly. Consistency and frequency is the key, and she can sleep through the night in her crate with no accidents, which is amazing!  Whoever adopts ROOBY will need to continue her training as well as begin basic obedience training with her. She's a definite people pleaser, comes to her name, and really wants to be the best dog she can be.
If interested in ROOBY please submit an online application to adopt a dog at She is being fostered in New Milford, CT.  She has been dewormed and vaccinated for rabies & distemper so far. She will be spayed on June 6th, but she can be adopted now with the agreement that she be returned for her spay surgery.
ROOBY was born approximately 01.10.2022.
