Sir Lancelot d'Licorice (Waterbury)

Type of Animal:
DLH Black Tabby

Meet SIR LANCELOT D'LICORICE. He needed a regal name to help build up his confidence, but we call him LICORICE for short.

It's obvious to us that LICORICE once belonged to someone. He is not feral, but about two years ago he showed up at one of our feral colonies. He was terrified of humans and refused to allow us to trap him, but lately he started showing signs of decline and we knew it was now or never because the winters are brutal here in Connecticut and LICORICE needed to be inside.

Maybe he instinctively knew he needed help or maybe he was just tired of fighting the winters, because this time around trapping LICORICE wasn't so hard and now he's inside where it's warm and food is aplenty.

LICORICE is super sweet, but he's had a rough life. He will need a patient owner who will give him time to realize that his life has changed for the better.

LICORICE got along with the cats in his colony and he's fine with another cat in his foster home.

We took him straight to the vet and he's healthy, considering he's been living outside for a while. The vet believes LICORICE to be 5 years old. He is negative for both feline aids (FIV) and leukemia (FeLV) and his bloodwork looks good. He is scheduled to be neutered on 1/14/2020.
