Back in February, we took in a family of cats after their owners became homeless. Their people refused to enter a shelter because they had nowhere for their cats to go, so they were living on the streets with their cats in a shopping cart and sneaking them into the library just to stay warm. With snow falling and temperatures freezing, we stepped in so the cats would be safe and their people could finally get indoors.
The family included Mama GRACIE, her sons SPAZ and HANK (from two different litters), HANK'S siblings LILLY and RIVER, and STORMY, who isn't related but grew up alongside the others.
Over the past few months, the cats were split between our sanctuary and foster care. HANK moved into a foster home in Southbury with LILLY and RIVER, who have since been adopted, while SPAZ and STORMY remained together at the shelter with Mama GRACIE.
On May 28th SPAZ & STORMY moved into the Southbury foster home with HANK.
What happened next caught us completely off guard.
HANK walked into the room, sniffed SPAZ'S carrier, and instantly knew who was inside. Within seconds of the carrier door opening, the two boys were off playing together as if they had never spent a day apart. Months had passed, but their friendship hadn't missed a beat.
It's obvious that HANK & SPAZ belong together. These boys are young, hilarious, endlessly entertaining, and full of personality. If you adopt them, your house will never be boring again.
SPAZ was born approximately 04/03/2025. HANK is just a little younger, born 09/30/2025.
They are neutered, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, dewormed, and tested negative for FIV and FeLV.
If you can make room in your heart for these boys, please submit an online application to adopt a cat.
They are being fostered in Southbury, CT and they are ready to go.
