Reni (Waterbury)

We are searching for a medical foster-to-adopt home for RENI while she heals her body from the severe starvation she experienced.



We pulled this sweet puppy from the Waterbury Pound after she was found wandering the streets extremely emaciated, but as sweet as pie.



RENI is so skinny, weighing in at just 6 lbs. The vet believes her to be between 7-9 months old and states she needs to weigh at least 12 lbs once she's gained her weight back. We currently believe her to be a chihuahua mix, maybe mixed with miniature pincher. (Not entirely sure yet.)



RENI settled right into her foster home where she had a bath and a much needed pedicure to address her very long nails. The vet has performed an exam and a full blood panel. RENI is way too thin to undergo surgery at this time for her spay, so we need to fatten her up a bit before completing her vetting.



RENI is good with other dogs and cats, both of which live in her foster home. She is a super fun dog, breaking hearts everywhere she goes. She was a superstar at the vet and all of the staff took selfies with her.



She rides great in the car, is learning to walk on a leash, and will sleep snuggled up next to you in bed. under the covers.



She is diligently working on her potty training while she is with us and is doing amazing



She eats like it's her last meal (that's because she doesn't yet understand that another meal will always come) so she will benefit from a slow feeder. 



RENI is absolutely lovely and we'd love to see her find a family will will embrace her and keep her safe for the rest of her days. A fenced yard would amazing, and she'd love kids to play with too.
