Remy (Thomaston)

REMY was born around December 19, 2024. When she first came to us in April 2025 as a 12-week-old puppy, we thought she’d grow into a giant 80–100 lb dog. With her Mastiff-like looks and possible mix of American Bulldog, terrier, or pittie, it seemed inevitable. But surprise! This sweet girl topped out at just 40 lbs — making her the perfect little “pocket Mastiff.”

REMY was adopted quickly, but after a few months she was returned through no fault of her own. Her previous adopter called her the best dog he'd ever had — smart, affectionate, and well-trained — but an altercation with another household dog meant it wasn’t the right fit so REMY came back to us.

Back in her original foster home, REMY has slipped right back into family life. She adores the three boys in the home (especially the toddler, who is her best buddy) and she is endlessly entertained racing around the yard after the dirt bike that one of the older boys rides to wear her out. She gets along fine with the cats, though she secretly wishes they’d join in her games. (She loved the dogs in her previous home but since we don't know exactly what happened between her and the one dog aside from it may have involved food, we will entertain homes with other dogs on a case by case basis.)

REMY is the kind of dog who wants to be part of everything. She’ll curl up on the couch, snuggle under the covers at night, and eagerly join any family adventure. She’s completed puppy obedience, is working on her housebreaking (she does best with regular trips outside and walks), and is a pro at car rides. At 40 lbs, she’s the ideal size — easy to take along but sturdy enough for active fun. She has a calm, sweet nature with playful puppy energy, so walks, playtime, and plenty of tough chew toys to keep her happy and exercised.

REMY is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and negative for heartworm and tick-borne diseases.

This little “pocket Mastiff” is looking for an active family who will include her in their adventures and give her all the love she deserves.
