Jalapeno & Habanero (Southbury)
Meet JALAPEÑO and HABANERO — a mother and son duo whose bond is as strong as their names are spicy.
Two to three years old, tuxedo beauty JALAPEÑO arrived in our care 5½ months ago with her one tiny newborn, HABANERO, tucked safely beneath her. We don’t know what happened to the rest of her litter, but it was clear from the moment she came to us that this mama had been through something heartbreaking. She guarded HABANERO with fierce devotion and wouldn’t let him out of her sight for a second. (She still doesn’t.)
And honestly? Who could blame her.
Today, HABANERO has grown into the sweetest, happiest, most playful little boy. He is 6 months old now and loves other cats, adores toys, and greets the world with joy and curiosity. He is pure sunshine.
JALAPEÑO, once very “spicy,” has slowly learned that she and her baby are safe. Over the months, she has softened into a more gentle, trusting girl with her foster parents. But her whole world still revolves around HABANERO. He is her comfort, her purpose, and her heart.
This pair is deeply bonded — the kind of bond that you simply don’t break. Separating them would be devastating for JALAPEÑO. She has already lost too much in her life, and HABANERO is everything to her.
They are looking for a quiet home where they can stay together and continue to feel safe. HABANERO would be fine with a friendly young cat if there is one, but it’s not necessary — these two truly have all they need in each other. We believe that once settled into a loving home of their own, JALAPEÑO will let her guard down the rest of the way and blossom into the calm, loving cat she’s meant to be.
Both are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and negative for FIV/FeLV.
If you have a peaceful home and a big heart for a mama who has loved her baby with everything she has, JALAPEÑOand HABANERO are waiting for you.
They are being fostered in Southbury, CT. Please submit an online application to adopt a cat if interested.
