Mecca (New Milford)
Meet MECCA—your walking buddy, passenger princess, and very enthusiastic snuggle partner!
MECCA came to us on Halloween with the worst uterine prolapse we have ever seen. She had been living with it for an entire year, since her second heat. We drove her straight to Guardian Veterinary Specialists, where she underwent emergency surgery, including a spay, that same day.
Now that she’s feeling better, her playful, puppy personality is shining! MECCA loves walks, car rides, and being close to her people. Working from home? She’s happy to settle on the couch beside your desk and supervise. Ready for an adventure? So is she. Time to cuddle? That might be her favorite invitation of all.
MECCA turns 2 years old on November 11th, and we’re looking for a family who understands and loves French Bulldogs—including their big personalities and firm opinions about how life should work!
An experienced bulldog home and a fully secure, physical fenced yard are required. Electric fences do not qualify. Her ideal family will have someone home much of the day, whether working from home or enjoying retirement, and will happily make daily walks part of her routine. Once her incision has healed, she should be walked with a leash and harness.
We also want everyone in the household involved in her life—sharing walks, meals, playtime, and affection so she can build a bond with each person. MECCA loves her chosen person deeply and can be a little reluctant to share that person’s attention, so a family who can help her settle into a shared routine would be a wonderful fit.
MECCA is good with cats, and a home with a feline friend could be a lovely match. She has also lived with dogs, but we would be selective about a canine companion; an easygoing, non-dominant male may be the best fit. She takes food very seriously, so meals and treats will need thoughtful management around other pets.
She could also be perfectly happy as an only pet with a devoted person and plenty of companionship.
She is housebroken with regular trips outside and comfortably holds it overnight in her pen. MECCA is now spayed, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, microchipped, and dewormed.
This happy, cuddly little girl has been through so much. Now she’s ready for a life filled with walks, adventures, cozy naps, and people who are all in.
